SP Request

Standardized Patient (SP) Requests

Welcome to the UCLA Simulation Center's standardized patient request system.

For those in UCLA Health or DGSOM, login with your Mednet account using multi-factor authentication. For those outside the UCLA system, sign up for an account using the "Sign Up" link in the Request Portal.

Once you have logged in, please select "New SP Request" at the top of the page, as seen below:

Once selected, please fill out all sections of the New SP Request form with the details of your planned SP simulation session, including Event Info, Instructors/Learners, Requirements, and Date.

Please note the following: 

• SP Report Time should be at least 15 minutes before SP performance is to begin, 30 minutes preferred to account for any traffic or parking problems, or in cases where makeup/moulage or special costuming are required.
• SP End Time should include at least 15 minutes after performance for debriefing purposes. 
• No pelvic, breast or rectal exams of SPs allowed. If these procedures are needed, contact the SP Program at: uclaspprogram@mednet.ucla.edu.
• Minimum three (3) hour requirement per SP ($32 per hour) for each visit to campus, hospital/clinic site or similar for training (rehearsals) and/or performance.
• Minimum one (1) hour requirement per SP ($32 per hour) for any training (rehearsals) or performance done via Zoom or similar.
• The rates for an SP are as follows:
  • $32/hour for at-home preparation, training/rehearsal, and live performances.
  • $115/hour for filming, recording or any other work that will be part of enduring material.
• SPs are UCLA Limited Appointment Employees and must be paid for any at-home study/prep required.
• Jobs cancelled less than five (5) business days prior to scheduled date must be paid in full as originally booked.
